Sam Thanawalla
Director, Global Hospitality and Travel Practice

Sam Thanawalla is the Director of the Global Travel and Hospitality Practice at J.D. Power and Associates. He is responsible for growing the firm’s hospitality and travel business through innovative product solutions and strong client satisfaction. Mr. Thanawalla works with clients and the firm’s internal departments to facilitate the development of new projects, acting as the proposal architect and program designer. Additionally, he provides analytical support on the hospitality and travel syndicated studies.

Mr. Thanawalla’s experience in branding, marketing and research includes his work in the digital marketing group at J.D. Power and Associates where he supported numerous automotive brands in their marketing efforts and at Time Warner Cable where he was involved in the research, marketing and launch of new products. He also spent many years in the automotive parts industry as assistant vice president of finance and operations at Motorcar Parts and Accessories.

Mr. Thanawalla earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Bombay, a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Franklin and Marshall College and an MBA from the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University.
