Kathy Faulk

General Manager
Hilton Checkers, Downtown Los Angeles

Kathy Faulk has been the General Manager of Hilton Checkers in downtown Los Angeles since March 2007. This is a return trip to downtown Los Angeles, as her 23 year career in the hospitality industry included prior hotel experience here in the mid-1980’s. The industry has been a wonderful experience providing opportunities to live in different parts of the United States, provide service to a wide variety of charitable opportunities and, in general, take care of people by offering a home away from home.

Backstory

Kathy began her hospitality career in 1982 after receiving a BBA from Texas A&M University, Commerce Texas. Her first position was at the prestigious Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas, a world-wide recognized AAA rated 5 Diamond hotel, in the accounting department. A call from an industry connection then led to a fantastic opportunity to become the Controller first at The Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, then later at The Biltmore Hotel here in Los Angeles. After 5 years, she progressed into General Manager positions on the East Coast, in Philadelphia where she became Vice President of Operations for Growth Properties responsible for operations in a couple of hotels, and multi-family projects. After 6 years of really cold winters, she moved back to Dallas. While in Dallas, she was General Manager for several hotels for Sunburst Hospitality and Hilton Hotel Corporation, before joining Destination Hotels & Resorts as GM of The Richardson in Richardson Texas, and finally The Driskill Hotel in Austin Texas.

A cornerstone for building on business success has been Kathy’s ability to plug into each local community in which she has worked. She currently serves or has served in Board of Director positions with various entities including, but not limited too, LA Inc. (Los Angeles Convention and & Visitors Bureau), Executive Vice Chair of the Downtown Business Improvement District (Los Angeles), Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association, Hotel & Motel Association of Dallas, Richardson Convention & Visitors Bureau, American Heart Association, Chamberlain Ballet, Richardson Symphony Orchestra and Boys & Girls Clubs of Dallas.
